Grades for cancelled GCSEs and A-level exams in England will now be published as per normal.
Grades are now decided by teachers and tutors' assessments. Discriminating against a whole cohort of pupils.
A-level results will be published on 13 August and GCSEs on 20 August.
Nick Gibb, the junior schools minister said it would give pupils and families some "reassurance and clarity".
What utter tosh this. Instead this whole cancelling of exams has driven a horse and cart through the exam exercise. Pupils, parents teachers and schools have all been let down by the wholesale cancellation of exams. A simple delay in the exams would have allowed the vast majority of exams to be sat.
A-level exam candidates who are hoping to go university will not have time to sit the exam again if they are unhappy with the their teacher decided grade. Surely we should just focus on finding a way to put the exams on. With our with out Tutors & Exams.
The solution is to either reverse the cancellations or give universities the opportunity to set exams for their entrance to their courses which are not run by the exam boards.
