We had the pleasure to talk to the Transfer tutor this afternoon around the future of GL assessments and the 11 plus.
Especially entrance into the Grammar School system. The Transfer tutor felt that we the 11 plus has a place. However, it is no means comprehensive in its ability to test and grade pupils. Leaving room for other forms of class assessment to be considered.
The Transfer tutor was also clear that there had to be different entrances to the Grammar system. There needn’t have to be the only entrance of 11 plus. Merely this was just one way for the pupils to apply to schools that sat the forms of similar to the GL 11 plus Assessment.
Further, the transfer tutor felt the Access Arrangements were fit for purpose .
