Centre assessed grades deep dive!
Centre assessed grades are about giving the responsibility of GCSE and A level exam grading to the centre, school or college that the exam candidate is sitting the exams with.
The exam boards then use a form of standardisation to verify the grade.
With any exam appeals looked at on a case by case basis. With the added extra opportunity to sit the exams at the next opportunity if the exam candidate is unhappy with the initial centre assessed grade outcome.
For private candidates who are learning on their own. They need to join a learning provider who will vouch for the learning / ongoing assessment. This can happen as little as 10 lessons. Followed by a high quality mock exam.
