Computer based exams are coming

Teenagers sitting  exams on computers for gcse and A levels is now a matter of “not if, but when”, the hesd of the UK’s biggest exam board AQA said.

Colin Hughes, chief executive of the AQA board, said that assessing exam candidates during the pandemic would have been easier if the uk had been able “to deliver some examinations online”.

while it would be possible to introduce digital modules within just three years for GCSEs

Colin said many people had previously viewed the idea of online exams as “in principle quite a good idea”, but “fraught with difficulties”.

While here at the exam house we have been promoting exam sitting through computer based exams since our inception.

Here is a blog post about the actual challenge of running exams via computer.
