Ofqual have finally come out with their consultation findings. The cancellations of exams in the summer of 2020 to reduce the threat of the coronavirus spreading as lead to calls for exams to be re instated in September.

Eighty two percent of the 12,623 respondents to the Ofqual consultation on this summer’s exceptional arrangements agreed with our proposal to adopt the grading process into our regulatory framework this year. 

They key to the process has been the understanding of the additional exams in the autumn.

The report sets out the exam consultation “overall arrangements this summer is the planned additional exam series in the autumn, which will provide an opportunity for students unable to receive a calculated grade, and others who would like the opportunity to improve their grade, to take an exam. ‘
