Exams coming into your home

Exams coming into your home

An interesting new development on the new way of taking exams. With the rush of trying to sit exams in some way, pupils are finding that their home bedrooms have become their own exam centres. Wholly inappropriate from the start. The daily mail covered it today.

It is no doubt pupils will begin to complain as their bedrooms are now being invaded via the video cam. Certainly often bedrooms of teenagers and o young adults are neither appropriate to be shown to the outside world, let alone become a place of an exam. The simple question would be to find a more suitable place in the home to sit the exams. In the same way wealthy rare pupils have exam tutors, It is rare that a spare table, dining room or even spare bedroom is available. if it is available it would be purely a 'wealth and access' opportunity. A chaotic, crowded home will have little space to sit exams.

If this continues the idea of sitting exams at home would be a middle class exercise. Devoid of the social access that exam boards pride themselves on. With law exams increasingly done online, the idea of a tidy home both as a child and as an adult without the escape to an organised work environment will become ever more of a problem.

However, Microsoft have developed their online meeting software to begin to blur out the back ground. How this will be able to stop cheating, as the back ground maybe others who have the answer.
