Alastair Montgomery exams

Excited to be talking to Alastair Montgomery. Who is working on a new international exam service outside of the school framework for Intac. Providing parents a guide to their child’s learning development. Here at the Exam House we are excited to find service providers who understand the value of outside of school exam tests focused on the candidate.

Alastair, a former director of UKiset says ‘we decided to tear up the old way of running high-stakes exams by putting the candidates and families firmly in charge of their own tests. We worked with hundreds of test centres worldwide and ran tests 365 days a year. Families then decided where to send their results in order to apply to schools of their choice. "

Alistair goes on "It's remarkable that more exams do not operate this way and that families are rarely in the driving seat when it comes to taking exams. This is why the Intac Network of test centres plan to challenge this and permit more candidates to gain qualifications on their own terms" Here at The Exam House we believe that the schools often are not the best place for GCSE and A level exam taking for every candidate. As discussed in other blogs, the challenge for schools are multi-faceted and how can schools provide exam solutions for everyone. Further, along with the chance for outside candidates to sit exams are often curtailed to what the school can provide without considering non school providers. The challenge for outside of school exam is for exam boards to be flexible in understanding what schools can do with their depth of human resource. With schools struggling to give the full width of access for candidates it is up to the independent providers that help where schools cannot. While the exam boards support the comprehensive opportunities that independent exam providers bring. Do have a read what the Exam House can offer.
